Creative ads spell success

ONE THING that I enjoy doing the most is watching cricket live on TV. Unlike many others, to me, cricket is not just a game but indeed, life- a wannabe profession. And as you all know- as a MARCOM professional, I cannot resist the tendency to watch and abbreviate each advertisement (ad) that is shown at regular intervals during the cricket matches. I don’t know what inspires what, but I end up reading the minds of the players as I do with each ad I get to see.

So, courtesy IPL-2, I want to hit the circuit with my analysis on one of the most popular and promising business segments today "The cellular companies-- MOBOs".

Deccan Chargers may enter the perfect square

DON’T BE surprised, if history repeats itself. The last year's four semi-finalists are into the making of history. However, there is a team which is trying hard to enter into the perfect square. The team is none other than the collection of big favourites ‘Deccan Chargers’ chasing hard and at any point of time, can step into the favourite four square.

The Royal Challengers and Mumbai Indians have also not dropped their weapons yet. Their revised strategy may cause a ray of hope and some miracles. After all, fortune does favour the bold. But, Knight Riders are really generous for opposition and trying to help them secure valuable points. How selfless they are!

IPL: The contenders and the pretenders

WE HAVE just surpassed the half way stage of the IPL’s second season. All the teams have played at least seven matches, and as it stands, Delhi Daredevils are sitting pretty on top of the table with 10 points, after having played seven games (as of May 07, 2009).

Based on the on-field performances, the form that individual players are in at the moment and the arrival and departure of various members in the teams, I’ve decided to rank the eight teams as contenders and pretenders to reach the semifinal stage. (This is just my opinion and may draw varied comments from many).

T20: It's just a new format of cricket!

WITH GREAT power comes great responsibility. Let’s recall the classic cricketing days --- A batsman was told to go up in the order if he performed well in the previous match. In match number 18, between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils, Yusuf Pathan came to bat at number seven. Warne tampered with his batting position. Wasn’t it a bit surprising? Didn’t he perform well in the previous match? I guess he was the superhero. He made possible the win against KKR in the super over.
